Evaluation of the Success of Applying Digital Health Technologies and Disease Management Platform to Primary Healthcare Services İn Cardiovascular Disease Monitoring

Aim:

Today, the digital transformation and expansion opportunities in the healthcare sector are increasing the accessibility and reliability of healthcare services. We aimed in this study investigate the effectiveness of reviewing technological tools and open-licensed devices used within the scope of digital transformation in primary healthcare services in preventing cardiovascular diseases, which have very high mortality rates.

Method:

In our study, we retrospectively reviewed data from 2020-2025 regarding primary healthcare records and Disease Management Platform (DMP) records of patients diagnosed with cardiovascular disease. Research data was obtained by searching the PubMed, Google Scholar, and WoS databases using relevant keywords. The study sought to answer the questions: ' Could digital health technologies and disease management platforms improve the efficiency of healthcare services when implemented in primary healthcare settings? , Could the integration of technologies developed within the scope of digital transformation in healthcare and devices used for monitoring physiological parameters, into primary healthcare services help prevent cardiovascular diseases, which have very high mortality rates? ‘

Results:

Digital health technologies are being increasingly adopted worldwide to strengthen healthcare systems. It is predicted that the integration of health technologies into hospitals and family health centers will improve patients' quality of life, psychological and social well-being in the coming years. The recent use of innovative medical devices that record physiological parameters in primary healthcare delivery has facilitated patient involvement in healthcare planning. Interviews prepared for patients who couldn’t access healthcare centers have increased efficiency.

Conclusions:

Designing a medical consultation interface that allows online consultations with patients affiliated with the HYP (Health, Safety, and Environment) could offer an opportunity to strengthen patient-doctor communication and facilitate access to healthcare services. In this way, the short-term healthcare needs of immobile patients, pediatric and geriatric populations who cannot access family health centers could be met through video consultations.
